Benefits

From the Australian perspective the collaboration will facilitate activities in the research needs identified in the consensus statement, the Black Mountain Declaration, working on areas of common interest and also mutual exchange on approaches to regulating EDCs.

From the UK perspective Australia can offer different environments to test models developed in the UK, ecological modelling capabilities in Australia, testing of different wildlife exposure scenarios, and unique fauna with potentially different EDC mechanisms.

The lessons learnt in EDC research can be applied to other emerging chemical issues such as nanoparticles, and it is intended to include such issues in the collaboration.
